About Por La Vida
Our Mission
Por La Vida's mission is to support justice-impacted individuals re-entering the community through advocacy, education, mentorship, and connections to resources through collaboration with other organizations, promoting stability, self-sufficiency, and successful reintegration into the community.
Our History
Founded in 2023, Por La Vida is dedicated to community outreach, aiming to inform and provide resources available in our community. We empower communities by teaching individuals how to access these resources, and when they are not available, we collaborate with other organizations to meet this goal. Our nonprofit organization was established to influence community involvement and address the growing need for assistance for those facing financial, medical, or social challenges, ultimately helping individuals become self-sufficient and strengthening our communities.
Our Programs & Services
Por La Vida connects individuals and families with resources and opportunities that can help them move forward. Our services and community efforts include:
● Reentry Support & Resource Navigation – Connecting justice-impacted individuals with housing, employment, behavioral health, substance-use treatment, and other supportive services.
● Education & Mentorship – Providing guidance, mentorship, educational support, and connections to college and career opportunities.
● Employment & Life-Skills Support – Connecting individuals with job training, workforce resources, and tools that promote independence and stability.
● Record Relief & Legal Resource Navigation – Connecting individuals with lawful resources and community partners that assist with expungement and other record-relief opportunities.
● Community Outreach & Basic Needs – Supporting individuals and families through outreach, resource distribution, community events, and connections to essential services.
● Community Partnerships & Volunteer Support – Collaborating with organizations throughout our community and surrounding areas to provide volunteers and support for charitable events, outreach efforts, and services benefiting those in need.
